The CSforMichigan Collaborative welcomes teachers to various CS workshops at TeacherCon. Come join us this summer for engaging discussions with great learning! It is sure to be one of the best professional development experiences you have ever had.
Whether you are new to teaching computer science (CS) or have previous experience, our Professional Learning Programs prepare you to teach with confidence and offers year-round support. No computer science experience is needed! The professional learning series will allow you to explore the curriculum with learning tools, practice new teaching strategies, discuss classroom management, and be a part of a community of teachers.
We have options for various grade levels and teacher interest. Find our opportunities inked below.

All participants are required to fill out an application as part of the registration process. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact our Applications Manager, Kathy Surd, at kathysurd.gmail.com or Program Specialist, Margaret Lafata at [email protected].
Application Dates
Workshop Costs
As part of the registration process, all participants must fill out an application and be approved to attend TeacherCon. Full Scholarships will be provided to many Michigan teachers provided by the CSforMichigan Collaborative. Cost should not be a deciding factor, please contact the program Applications Manager, Kathy Surd, at kathysurd.gmail.com or Program Specialist, Margaret Lafata at [email protected], if you have any concerns about the cost. Workshop costs range from $1,500 to $3,000, depending on the specific workshop.
- Registration/Application Link: There are two different application links: One for Code.org workshops, and another for all other workshop.
- Scholarships: The CSforMichigan Collaborative has scholarships available to Michigan educators. Scholarships will automatically be considered when educators apply for a workshop. No additional scholarship application is needed.

- January 21, 2025- Applications are open for Summer 2025 workshops
- January 30, 2025 - Accepted applicants will be notified on a rolling basis
- July 11, 2025 - Application deadline for Summer 2025 workshops

Lodging
As part of your application acceptance, we will automatically book you a hotel room from Sunday, July 27, 2025 evening through Friday, August 1, 2025. If you have a special request for hotel accommodations, such as needing 2 beds, you will have an opportunity to inform our Application Manager upon acceptance to the conference. There is no need to contact the hotel to book your accommodation.

CS Discoveries (6th-10th)CS Discoveries by Code.org is an introductory course for grades 6-10, covering web development, game design, programming, and data to foster creativity and problem-solving.

AP CSA (11th-12th)CSA by Code.org teaches software engineering and object-oriented design using Java. This free curriculum is College Board approved.

Bootstrap: Data ScienceBootstrap Data Science Professional Learning trains teachers to integrate data science into the classroom, helping students analyze and visualize real-world data through hands-on coding projects.

Bootstrap: Algebra 1Bootstrap Algebra 1 Professional Learning trains teachers to integrate coding with Algebra 1 concepts, enhancing student engagement and understanding through hands-on activities.

Bootstrap: Algebra 2Bootstrap Algebra 2 Professional Learning trains teachers to integrate coding with Algebra 2 concepts, enhancing student understanding of functions, modeling, and data analysis through hands-on activities.

Elem. CS BootCamp (k-5)Elementary CS Bootcamp (k-5) builds teacher confidence in computer science and robotics through a three or five day workshop featuring Code.org resources, robotics training, and classroom planning.

CS AIF (9-12)Computer Science and AI Foundations (CS AIF) curriculum introduces students to the core principles and real-world applications of computer science. Designed for high school students with or without prior computer science experience, this course empowers learners with essential skills to provide a comprehensive understanding of our dynamic digital world!
