Empowering Educators in Computer Science
The Elementary CS Bootcamp (TtT), spearheaded by the CSforMichigan Collaborative, aligns with Code.org's shift toward personalized learning by providing school districts with flexible, needs-based professional development in computer science education for K-5 educators.
Using a train-the-trainer model (TtT), this creates a scalable and sustainable framework for professional learning. It begins with the trainee becoming familiar with the curriculum and facilitation materials—including comprehensive guides, presentation decks, and logistical resources—designed in partnership with experienced lead facilitators.
The program then trains regional partners during a dedicated summer workshop, equipping them to independently recruit participants, tailor workshops to district needs, and provide ongoing educator support. By building a statewide facilitation network, the CSforMichigan Collaborative ensures consistency, collaboration, and high-quality, regionally customized professional learning that advances computer science education for elementary teachers.
Who We Are Seeking
Regional consultants, coaches, or PL providers looking to expand CS professional learning for local educators and school districts. The ideal candidate would be adding these opportunities into their existing role and responsibilities within their organization. Candidates will likely be from an ISD, RESA, non-profit, school district, or community organization. We will review all applicants who are interested in this opportunity.
