CSforMichigan Virtual Workshops

The CSforMichigan Collaborative welcomes teachers to various CS workshops this summer.  Each opportunity is outlined below with links to descriptions.  There are different options depending on the grade level and area of interest of the teacher.  Come join us this summer for engaging discussions with great learning!  It is sure to be one of the best professional development experience you have ever had. 

Whether you are new to teaching computer science (CS) or have previous experience, the our Professional Learning Programs prepare you to teach with confidence and offers year-round support. No computer science experience is needed! The professional learning series will allow you to explore the curriculum and learning tools, practice new teaching strategies, discuss classroom management, and be a part of a community of teachers.

CS Principles (10th-12th)

AP CS Principles by Code.org is a college-level course introducing programming, data, the internet, and computing's societal impact, fostering problem-solving and creativity.

CS Discoveries (6th-10th)

Time: 9:00a - 4:30p
​Cost: $800
​
CS Discoveries by Code.org is an introductory course for grades 6-10, covering web development, game design, programming, and data to foster creativity and problem-solving.

AI Foundations

​Date: July 27-31, 2026
Time: 9:00a - 4:30p
​Cost: $1000
​
The AI Foundations curriculum offers teachers flexibility in how they implement the content, allowing for customizations to meet the needs of their students, while addressing the CSTA standards to meet the new Michigan Law.

  • Financial assistance (Program Fee Support) is available for educators who need assistance covering the cost of professional learning.
  • Awards may cover part or all of the program fee, are subject to funding availability, and are not guaranteed.
  • Financial assistance is applied as a fee reduction (not cash payment to individuals). 
  • Complete the registration process after being notified of your financial assistance status.
